About the event
This Chicago Steppin workshop will be called Beyond the Beginner. It's recommended that you know the dance eight count.
Chicago Style Steppin' is a smooth, creative, and improvisational partner dance that originated in Chicago. It's characterized by a slotted dance pattern, where the follower moves up and down the lane while the leader moves on, off, and around the lane. The dance is usually performed to R&B, soul, jazz, and funk music, and has its roots in the Lindy Hop, Jitterbug, and the Bop.
